CNY Goodies

I bought Shrimp Rolls, Pineapple Tarts and Macademia Cashew Sugee Cookies today.
Received an email from one of my dearest dearest friends requesting me to bring some CNY cookies/snacks when I visit over the weekend.
Apparently, it is not a tradition in HK to purchase such snacks and cookies as the locals usually buy/sell waxed duck and dried sausages etc for CNY.
I find this an interesting revelation on customs and traditions.
