Singapore Art Museum

The Courtyard (By Night & By Day)
Have always loved this place.. ever since I was 18,
a chance encounter on a random day... the start of a wonderful relationship..
Gothic architecture, a profound sense of history, lovely courtyard
wandering around its' premises transports me to Europe
The National Heritage Board has done a good job with the restoration work.. I must say...
So serene and tranquil right in the city.

Takashimaya Singapore 10% off (26/01-- XXXX)

Takashimaya happens to be one of my favourite shopping centres! Self-contained with all my pet
brands under one roof.
There's(was) an addition 10% discount for Takashimaya cardholders over the weekend. Applicable even for "sale" items thus stretching the dollar by alittle.

With CNY round the corner... it appears that the stores are already having their "CNY Promotional Discounts"... I eagerly anticipate more discounts in the subsequent weeks... if only it isn't so crowded all the time. =P

Love Found & Lost

I watched "Happy Birthday" -- 生日快樂
Revolving around perennial themes of love, friendship and heartbreak.

Does eternal love exist?
Is there love so pure that it transcends all boundaries and space?
Is it possible to love a person so much that u let him/her go just because you fear losing him/her in the end?
Trite questions so many say.. but none can deny the fixation we have nor the iron vise this subject has on us...
Sadly, I don't have the answers.
All I can say is : "Love Like You Never Loved Before, Live Each Day Like Your Last."
Human beings tend to spend too much time obsessing over "what should/what will/what if" without realising that action is the first step to success.

New Apartment

The new place is in town. 5 quick minutes away from Orchard Road.
Busy Busy Busy... too many cars, people & noise.
The Hustle and Bustle.
Truly, the Heart of the City.

Longchamp 1-for-1 Exchange

Cruising through mid-week...
An excerpt from an email:
" ...apparently, one of the suppliers who supplied the chemical dyes for the bags changed the composition, and this is causing "bubbles" to appear on the bag. Longchamp will do a one-for-one exchange... "

Waawaaweewa!! My heart soared when I read this piece of news... bought 2 medium-sized Longchamp bags on my recent HK trip... one is Sweet Lilac and the other a lovely Coral(Pormegranate) and after using it a few times, to my utmost horror, tiny air bubbles appear to be surfacing on the Coral bag. I have not even started using the Lilac one yet!!
Though not life-threatening but it is extremely hideous. And though I know I just recently acquired this bag but it really is sooooo useful, practical and handy. I can't rave enough about this item and have been using it almost everyday and as a result, grown rather attached to this humble item.
I thought that maybe it was due to the rain/moisture and my insufficient care since it has been raining here almost everyday for the past 2 weeks. Thus, was rather upset about this for the past few days when out of the blue, one of my best-est pals sent this email.
However, am still abit discomforted by the fact; that apparently the defective bags were made approximately 1 year ago so EITHER my bag is 1) old old old stock @ Sogo (Causeway Bay) OR 2) Longchamp has not ratified the problem with their dye!

Now, tell me which is more upsetting??
P/S: I REALLY REALLY like this bag!

The Last Night...

I believe it is just human nature to take for granted things that are seemingly always around.

I have never really stopped and starred at how lovely the city lights glow as viewed from my room on a clear summer night. I guess I did when I 1st moved into this apt. It did strike me that from my balcony I could see City Hall and Suntec City. Fabulous!

Maybe because I simply assumed that with 365 days in a year ... there would be many other opportunities to look upon this scene... what ever it is... Now, I know that I sure am gonna miss this landscape. The flickers of light that dot the horizon as far as the human eye stretches. Those moments just before the sun sets when the sky is illuminated a mixture of red and purple. The intersection of day and night.

A twinge of sadness and alil longing... I don't ask for much.. simple pleasures can derive much happiness.

I spy...

Mirror Mirror On The Wall...Who's The Shiniest Of Them All??

Ludlow Louis Vuitton (LV) Wallet / Salvatore Ferragamo Patent Pumps...

I like them all... Tough Choices...

Patent Patent Patent.
I have a thing for Patent Leather right now... there is something addictive about it.. Fresh and Shiny. Exuding raw energy and vibrance.
A few months ago, I had a thing for rich fabrics... satin-like shimmery material. Doesn't this show how fickle the human mind is?
Wonder if it is because of all the rain... hate getting my shoes & feet wet and having to wait for them to dry... it seems easier to care for Patent than Satin yes??

Thursdays' before Fridays...

New Majestic Hotel, Bukit Pasoh, Singapore
My heart skips a beat when Thursday comes round, bringing with it the promise of Friday just round the corner...
Adore weekends and weekend getaways... can't get enough of lazing, napping and brunch... Am always on the look out for something new, fun and fabulous...
How enticing is a kinky chillout weekend getaway??
The best part is -- pack a change of clothes, books & magazines -- one can look no further than our very own "backyard".

One Of My Fave Places On Earth

Colourful Hues Of California

Sunset Bathing Highway 1 in Golden Orange Light.

I have many many happy memories driving along this stretch of Coast... There is something surreal and magical about this place. Awesome!

Detox?

Detox
This word has been very much on my mind recently. Maybe it has to do with the fact that it's afterall a New Year and don't we all believe in New Beginnings?? Or I am just getting so tired of holding everything together.
I feel this incessant need to purge my life of all toxins and of all physical clutter. Everything that is not good for me-- too many sweets, toxic friends and useless merchandise. Somewhere between last year and the year before, I seem to have lost my sense of balance and austere well being. Teethering dangerously on the cliff...

I desire to free my mind of the unnecessary shackles that are more often than not self-imposed.
I have never been much of a whinger; believing myelf to be more of a survivor- come hell or high waters, but of late, this restraint is starting to wane; unravel its threads. Maybe I am not that strong afterall.

Astrology and Astronomy

Somebody asked randomly today:

"What is the difference between Astrology and Astronomy?"

A seemingly simple question which everyone thinks they can answer but the real question is -- can you?

My Secret Pasttime

It is actually getting alittle alarming but I am secretly addicted to this K-Drama forum... constantly need to get my fix of star studded fodder.
Maybe it is the voyeuristic streak in us speaking..the need to prob and pry into the life of a complete stranger.... or the need to break out of the mundane cycle of nomality we are largely stuck in.

Fairy Tales and Korean Dramas

Fairy tales & Korean Dramas

Korean Dramas are unhealthy. Pointless, save for raising one's hopes and spirits just to have them come crashing again when faced with reality. You see, in stories Snow White always finds her Prince and they ride off into the sunset. A picture perfect setting. Now, in reality Snow White finds her Prince, gets scared off by the fact that she found him or finds herself embroiled in a web of intrigue involving the ghosts of ex-girlfriends and various other love triangles. Or simply Prince Charming is just the solemn malcontent fellow who is unable to adequately express his feelings. Either way, she gets tired of waiting for him and leaves his charming ass and by the time the realisation hits -- she is a complete moron. Its to late. The prince is already dating a gorgeous porcelain-faced supermodel type from another kingdom. But wait, you say, it's not over. There could still be a happy ending. Can Snow White win back the Prince? That is the question. In the tale she probably gets drenched in the falling rain inevitably catching a terrible cold or collapses out of sheer exhaustion and he comes to her rescue on horseback. Now back to reality. There are no dragons and, unless you are into equestrians, not many guys are riding around on horses. The truth is nothing ever really works out the way you thought it would when you were a child and few to none actually get a love narrative worth writing about. Unless its titled "The prince who never called" or "The princess and her friday night alone", I think that at the heart of this issue, no matter how progressive society is and how empowered women are there lies at the core -- a little girl's fear that their biography will be about a bitter old woman that lives alone with her cats. Tell me... how many people's life stories end with the magical phrase "Happily Ever After"?

School Days

JJH aka Shin Goon aka Princess Hours celeb in school...
Somehow this picture of Joo Ji Hoon in school brings back school day memories. Wonder if he ever finds it tough juggling a career with school? Doesn't he get mobbed just being in such a public place?
School.. ah those carefree days.. happy memories of dancing in the sun, feeling the wind in your hair and just being alive.
Somedays work just sucks the living energy out of the soul. Others may disagree but school days were the best days of life!
